On May 31, 2011, President Barack Obama released a statement declaring June Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Pride Month. In this release, President Barack Obama stated that we need to “eliminate prejudice everywhere it exists, and to celebrate the great diversity of the American people.” He further stated his support for the “It Gets Better” campaign.
