Schools Handling Cyberbullying?


      Two sixth grade boys at Benjamin Franklin Middle School in Ridgewood, NJ texted dozens of sexually explicit threats to one of their female classmates. When the fearful girl went to the prinicipal he replied, “We can’t discipline him” since the text messages occured outside of school hours. The parents, who did not want to contact each other or call the police, wanted the school to handle the situation. Many schools are faced with the complicated task of dealing with cyberbullying.
